My sneaky Dad!

Back in the days of film camera's my Dad used to take my camera and use it to take funny self-portraits so that I would get a surprise when I developed the film. When I mentioned to him that I was scrapbooking this layout he said he doesn't even remember doing that, but here are two pictures as PROOF Dad!!!

I'm sure there are more on the negatives if I look, but these are two I found that had already been printed out.

I used the Swagger Collection from Fancy Pants Designs for this layout. It was perfect for these pics of my Dad, especially the one with the mustaches! My dad has had at least a mustache for my whole life and a full beard for as long as I can remember.

Thanks for stopping by,
Have a great day

Growing in Unity Day 5

Well, my week of Growing in Unity has come to an end :( I had such an amazing week and I am so thankful for all the kind words left on my posts.

So what better way to finish off the week but with a little celebration!

CHEERS!!!

I love all the wine stamps from Unity!!! I don't even drink, but I think they make great cards for giving away to others!

You can't really tell from the photos but I used glossy accents over the glasses to make them look real.

For the sentiment I used the Let's Get Tipsy itty bitty. The wine glasses are from a different wine itty bitty called Wine and Friends

and now, since my week is over I have just one more little treat to share with you.

There is not a whole lot of stamping going on with this card, but the sentiment is from Unity so I thought I'd share...

The sentiment is from the Happily Ever After Kit of the Month that I also used for my Monday cards.

The papers, buttons, and chipboard sticker are from October Afternoon, and I just HAD to use my new lace with the zipper detail from Close to My Heart! Isn't it fabulous?!?!? They only sell it in this pink color, but I hope they make it in all the colors cause I would definitely buy them ALL!!!

and now one final reminder about the PRIZES!!!

2 CHANCES TO WIN!!!
I'm giving away a little blog candy! I have a Leopard Print embossing folder from Darice and the Memories 6x6 paper pad from Teresa Collins to give away to 1 lucky friend who comments on my blog this week!
AND Unity is generously giving away 2 Itty Bitties of your choice to a commenter on my blog this week. So make sure you stop by daily and leave a comment for more chances to win!!!

Growing in Unity Day 4

Holy Cow! This week is going by so fast, but I am having a GREAT time!!!

Thanks again for all the kind comments on my posts, they are so sweet and so greatly appreciated :)

Today I have a card that is a little different to share with you....lots and lots of embossing! both heat and dry.

I heat embossed the clouds with white embossing powder onto blue patterned paper.  The base of the card is dry embossed with little triangles. Check out the close up photo for more details.

The clouds and the sentiment are from the same Kit of the Month as the purse card from yesterday. It is called Take Time to Laugh. To finish off the card I just kept it simple and added some orange twine and buttons. Sweet and simple ;)

 and now...

PRIZE TIME!! 2 CHANCES TO WIN!!!

Growing in Unity Day 3

Wow, Wednesday already?!? My Growing in Unity week is half way over :(

It has been so great reading all of the kind comments you have left for me. Please know that I read each and every one of them and I really appreciate your sweet words.

Today I have a fresh, fun and funky card that you could give your best friend. It would be great for a birthday card, hello, or just because.

The purses and the sentiment are both from an old Unity KOM from 2010 called Take Time to Laugh. I belonged to the KOM club for about a year and I absolutely LOVED it! I only stopped for financial reasons, but I would start up again in a heartbeat if I could. If you don't know about the Kit of the Month club you should check it out!!!

This is made with a color combo that is not typical for me, in fact I don't think I've ever used it before, but I think I really like how it came together.

anyways...

PRIZE TIME!! 2 CHANCES TO WIN!!!

Growing in Unity Day 2

Hello Friends!

I'm back with Day 2 of my Growing in Unity week and I am so HAPPY to be here!!

I've got a masculine card to share with you today that I am also tying in with my Fancy Pants Designs DT assignment (hence the tags on the photos).

I mixed papers from the Swagger collection by Fancy Pants Designs with my Unity Stamps to pull this all together. The Swagger collection has moustaches in it which inspired me to use my moustache stamp on this card.

Here are the Unity Stamps I used:
Happy Birthday from Party All Day
Hey Stud from Hey Stud itty bitty
Moustaches from Favorite Mustache itty bitty

PRIZE TIME!! 2 CHANCES TO WIN!!!

Growing in Unity Day 1

Happy Monday Friends!

To say that I am excited to be a Growing in Unity gal is week would be an absolute understatement!!! For those of you who are regulars to my blog you know I am a HUGE Unity fan so getting to play with my large collection of Unity Stamps this week is going to be awesome :)

I'm starting off the week with a two-for. I couldn't decide if I wanted to make a Baby Boy card or a Baby Girl card with this adorable Ark stamp so I ended up making both.

I have had this Itty Bitty set called Two by Two for quite a while but I hadn't got around to using it yet so it felt good to get it inked up.

The sentiment that comes with the Ark image didn't really suit my card so I used a different one from the July 2010 Kit of the Month 'Happily Ever After'

PRIZE TIME!! 2 CHANCES TO WIN!!!
I'm giving away a little blog candy! I have a Leopard Print embossing folder from Darice and the Memories 6x6 paper pad from Teresa Collins to give away to 1 lucky friend who comments on my blog this week!

MCS: April Sketch Challenge

We've got a fun new sketch challenge to play along with at My Creative Sketches! I love the banners and the fun layering on this sketch!

I used the Down by the Shore collection from Fancy Pants Designs to make my layout...here are some close ups of the details...

I used a bunch of different stencils including the 3x8 Patterned Stencils Set from Fancy Pants Designs to add patterns to the white cardstock background before I built up my other layers.

I stapled the little banners on with the Tim Holtz Tiny Attacher.

I stuck with the red/white/blue color scheme because our tongues were blue from eating Rocket popcicles that have the same red/white/blue colors!

I hope you'll play along with our sketch challenge for your chance to win an amazing prize or to be featured in the Top 3! To link up you layout and for all the challenge details check out the MCS blog here.

SOUS card sketch challenge: April 3-16

I'm playing along with the Stuck on U Sketches card sketch challenge...

All of the items I used on my card are from the Down by the Shore collection from Fancy Pants Designs.

I hand embroidered the sunshine onto the card. It might look time consuming but it only took 20 minutes. To do it, I sketched out the sun lightly in pencil. I then pierced holes along the lines. Once I pierced all the holes I erased the pencil lines before embroidering with the yellow thread.

Here is the sketch we are playing along with this time around...

I hope you'll play along with the challenge for your chance to be featured on the SOUS blog as one of the Top 3! You can link up your card here by April 16th.

Thanks for stopping by today,
~Becky

Scrapping Nook April Sketch

It's the first of the month and I have the new sketch from the Scrapping Nook to share with you. First off, here is the layout I created with the sketch...

And here is the sketch we were playing along with. If you just stumbled across this post you can check out how the rest of the Nook team interpreted the sketch here.

Here are some close ups going clockwise around my layout.

I used pretty much all Echo Park collections for this layout. I mixed and matched the collections.

I did use a few other random letter stickers and buttons but I'd say 90% of this is various Echo Park.

Well that is it for me. I'd love it if you'd give me a shout out and tell me why you scrapbook!?!?

Thanks for stopping by!
